It’s been said and proven that a small spark can start a great fire. Take, for instance, the Great Chicago Fire of 1871. One famous fire-starting tale credits a cow for kicking over a lantern in a barn; three days later, Chicago’s city was rubble. The conditions – hot, dry, & windy – and the overuse of wooden construction made the perfect setting for a tragic ending.

We all know that fire can be beneficial and used for great benefit, or it can cause great harm and destruction. Like fire, knowledge and ideas have the power to assist and improve circumstances, or they can cause devastation. 3ABN Kindling is a blog designed to uplift, encourage, motivate, and inspire you – to assist and improve your life. We want to connect you with the 3ABN Family and point you to Jesus Christ through insight, knowledge, and Godly counsel.

With topics ranging from health, wholeness, comfort, and healing to recovery and freedom from addiction while walking wisely in your Spiritual and personal relationships, 3ABN Kindling will be a trustworthy source of guidance as you navigate life.

The word kindling originates from candle or torch – synonymous with starting, igniting, awakening, quickening, stirring up. So it’s not too difficult to see where this is going. Written for anyone seeking truth and answers, each week, a member of our writing team – you’ll meet them soon – will address a relevant subject that will challenge you to think, kindle the wonder of life, and shed light on a world of shadows to help transform you to the likeness of Christ.

Then, of course, it will be up to you to act on what you read. After the Great Chicago Fire, building codes were improved, and first responders and city planners implemented higher standards. Although fire leaves its scars, it also can allow for new growth. We hope that 3ABN Kindling will bring about change as you take it to heart, put it to use, and pass the torch to those you influence – like the fire shut up in Jeremiah’s bones, you won’t be able to keep it to yourself.

It only takes a spark

To get a fire going,

And soon all those around

Can warm up in its glowing.

That’s how it is with God’s love;

Once you’ve experienced it,

You spread His love to everyone,

You want to pass it on.

Welcome to 3ABN Kindling.
